Do not confuse the WorldFirst methods
According to WorldFirst’s current guide, WorldFirst Payments uses a USD balance and does not require advance account binding. World Pay settles in CNH and requires Alipay verification plus account binding to 1688. World Card follows a card-payment flow. These descriptions are not an eligibility guarantee for every country or account.
Check the current provider requirements and the payment options actually displayed at checkout. Never infer that an agent is mandatory solely because you do not use Alipay.
Confirm the payment and purchase terms
- Which legal entity receives the payment, and does it match the seller or agent contract?
- Which currency, exchange rate, conversion spread and transaction fee apply?
- Does the amount cover goods only, China freight, or the complete service?
- Which account holds the marketplace order and can open a claim?
- What refund currency, processing time and non-refundable fees apply if the seller cannot supply?
- Does the chosen payment method and purchase category qualify for any dispute or buyer-protection scheme? Check the provider terms rather than assuming a guaranteed chargeback.
Payment is only one part of buying
Before payment, confirm the specification, receiving address and shipping acceptance. A successful checkout does not prove product quality or include export delivery.
For an agent purchase, request a written itemised quote and the evidence that the domestic order was placed. For direct buying, preserve the original order, messages and receipt. Stop if a payee changes unexpectedly until you verify the change through a known channel.

The page distinguishes card checkout, a USD-balance Payments flow without advance binding, and CNH World Pay with binding and Alipay verification. Its public wording is not a country-by-country acceptance test.
The useful decision is therefore conditional: if your checkout offers a method you are eligible to use, compare its actual total debit. If it does not appear, stop and ask the provider about that account and order rather than paying an unknown intermediary to bypass the requirement.

Compare the cost of completing the same payable amount
Use the supplier’s same final payable amount and a contemporaneous checkout for each route. Record the source currency debited, currency conversion, payment fee, seller-receipt amount and any separate agent service. A provider’s exchange-rate headline cannot be compared with an agent quote that also includes buying work.
Illustrative decision only: one route debits USD 1,420 for the same confirmed seller receipt; another debits USD 1,395 but adds USD 40 of required payment handling. Totals are USD 1,420 and USD 1,435. The apparent USD 25 saving becomes USD 15 more. These invented amounts are not provider fees or a live exchange rate.
For refunds, compare the amount recoverable in the receiving currency after the actual fee and FX terms. A five-day refund estimate does not solve a purchase that must be replaced tomorrow. Keep a local-stock alternative when the deadline cannot tolerate a payment or refund problem.
Payment decision record: clear, hold or change route
- Clear only when the goods specification, seller identity, payee, full amount and receiving/shipping plan all refer to the same order.
- Hold for a different payee, revised bank details, a deposit presented as full payment, an unexplained FX difference or a mismatch between receipt and order currency. Verify through a previously known channel.
- Change route when you are not eligible for checkout, the service cannot explain the order owner or the refund process, or required costs make local purchasing more practical.
- Before authorising payment, save the dated quote and the terms that cover your transaction. Never send a password, full card number or one-time code as an RFQ attachment.
